tumbling

Hi friends, I just wanted to quickly share my tumblr, Style Anthro, so you can see what I'm up to! There's loads of little features like an updated twitter feed and I'm loving the grid format - it makes blogging super easy and fun, and I can even sneak in posts on my tea break at work, which means lots more content and cool tips (I'm trying to get all the info on sample sales, so if you're in London and looking for bargains, keep a look out!).

If you have tumblr, please follow me, but if you don't, you can still comment or ask me a question even if you don't have an account! x

over here!

Hi everyone! I've decided to move over to tumblr. You can find me here.I wanted to be able to post more, without having to feel like every post has to mean something or be really interesting - and I can even post blog posts from my phone, so I plan to be posting more than once a day. If you have a tumblr, follow me! But don't worry if you don't - I've enabled comments with Disqus and hopefully you'll be able to comment through there.

winter warmers

I know I've already posted about these ASOS mittens but I just think they are so darn cute!
I also wanted to let you in on a little secret - if you're an ASOS premier, all your orders are 10% off until Christmas. Pretty good, hmm? I know where I'm going to buy all my presents this year! (Did you know I'm obsessed with Christmas? Too excited to start collecting ornaments for my new flat!)

jungle fairytale

I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post! I have lots to share, but I've also been thinking about switching to tumblr for a more visual blog, as I don't write much anyway! What do you guys think?

Anyway, here's a couple phone photos of my cousin's wedding in a French-style village in the Highlands in Malaysia. It was magical, if not a little bit odd.

my domain

Sorry for being completely MIA for the past couple of weeks! Things have been slightly stressful and I haven't been particularly inspiring - applying for job after job on end does wonders for removing all traces of creative thinking! I will hopefully be moving soon, and am also heading to Malaysia, which I am super excited about! Over the last few days I did manage to finally set up a little website. I mostly wanted a link to attach to CVs with a portfolio of my work, but it's so painstaking to upload it all, I've only added a few examples. But, if you want to see what I have been up to, you can check it out here.

An uncharacteristic Primark binge, ideas for the flat, and wearing Breton stripes every day this weekend.

nifty fifties

I've always been attracted to mid-century decor, and while recently I've been leaning towards industrial Americana rather than retro kitsch (probably because as kitsch has gotten super popular and there are lots of high street home options available, it's cheapened the look for me), there is something about a vintage wallpaper print and modular sofa that still makes me weak at the knees.

I was planning to go to the Vintage Furniture Flea in Bethnal Green on Sunday (September 11th) to see if there were any bargains to be had, but I'm visiting a friend in Nottingham. If anyone knows, let me know if it's worth going to the next one in December!

happenings

Things have been a little quiet lately on the blog (apologies!) - I've been super busy with lots of things (mostly not fun) which have left me tired and uninspired, and the last thing I feel like doing is disconnecting the family computer to connect my laptop to the internet and trying to think of something to blog about for the sake of it. But some exciting changes are on their way!
  1. Tomorrow, the Sprunt family are joining the 21st century and getting wireless internet! This means I can blog without even getting out of bed - result!
  2. I will only be able to enjoy the benefits of said internet connection for a week, as on September 16th, we get the keys to the flat! I have been beavering away collecting tons of inspiration and paint swatches, and I can't wait to start sharing my new adventure in home ownership with you all!
  3. I have an exciting freelance job starting, setting up and editing a lifestyle blog for a travel and luxury villa rental company - I'm hoping there will be perks!

i spy

Twenty Seven Names is a Kiwi brand with a preppy twist that we stock at ASOS. Over on their blog, you can see the winter 2011 collection in a great little campaign - whoever thought of this is genius, and I love the pretty prints and '70s colour palette. Such a great idea, and I'm really lusting over that stripey dress!

model behaviour

Hands up who's seen Lanvin's AW11 campaign starring Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmerman? Fly ladies looking pretty hot, that's what's up. But have you seen the campaign video the ad was shot from? Completely hilarious! Think sexy models in Lanvin's classy AW11 collection, dancing to I Know You Want Me by Pitbull, a song that should be confined to the depths of a seedy club with bad £1 tequila shots. Add into the mix a choreographed routine, all those enviably long limbs a-flailing, and serious looking boys in a Western style get-up. Pretty good if you ask me. Now, it's a model's job to look hot, and I can only assume that considering that they just look completely bizarre, this is meant to be tongue in cheek. I really hope it is. But makes for pretty amusing minute. Perhaps we could make some party game out of this!
